About the Authors...

Originally from Barbados, West Indies, Annette Gomes dreamed of a life in television. She grew up outside of Chicago, IL.   She holds a BS in Agricultural Economics from Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia, a BS in Agricultural Journalism- Broadcast division from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and an MS in Agribusiness Management from Alabama A and M  University in Huntsville, Alabama. She spent 20 years as an Anchor, Reporter and Talk Show Host with KOMU -NBC affiliate in Columbia Missouri and 13WMAZ- CBS in Macon, Georgia. 


In 2012, Annette chased her dream of becoming a Voice Over Artist by developing her own company entitled: Wutavoicecommunications – pronounced What a Voice Communications.

 

In 2015, she developed the book: “C is for Critter Fixer”.  The book was released in March, 2020.

In 2021, She lent her voice to the movie: “Garage”

She is currently a Strategic Communication Planner with the Department of Defense. In this role,  she is responsible for overseeing strategic communications planning, strategy formulation, and tactical communications integration and products in support of the Department of Defense-Army.

Dr. Terrence Ferguson was born in Talbotton, Georgia.  He knew he wanted to be a veterinarian from a very early age when he helped nurse his injured pet dog back to health. Dr. Ferguson attended Fort valley State College on a football scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science in 1992.

Dr. Ferguson returned to Middle Georgia after graduating from Tuskegee University.  He and his partner started Critter Fixer Veterinary Hospital in May 1999 in Byron, Georgia.  Three years later, the doctors bought land in Byron and Bonaire and built two new state of the art facilities. Today, Critter Fixer Veterinary Hospitals see over 20,000 patients each year.  Critter Fixer is showcased on its very own television show, "Critter Fixers: Country Vets" on National Geographic Wild, which wrapped production of its third season in July 2021.
